Welcome to Football Season.
We finally had our first game after 5 days a week for 7 weeks of practice. Our boys played hard and Kevin did a great job as Head Coach. I will leave the run down of the game to him and just post the pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

Melon Ballers vs Girlz Rock

Ella had her very 1st soccer game this past weekend. She had so much fun and did pretty well. She even scored a goal! Her cousin Payton is on the same team and they played against a team that her cousin Hannah is on. It was so cute to watch those little girls run around with the biggest smiles on their faces.
Here are just a few pictures.

Go Ella!

Look how happy they are after scoring.

Watch out Hannah

We decided to try camping with the kids.....next time we'll just drive home!
The boat is now closed for the season, it's sad I know we live in Southern California but we have to move on to football now.

Football is here!

For the past 6 weeks Monday-Friday 6-8 and even a few Saturdays I've been back on the football field. It is a lot of time and work but I really have fun out there. This year we have a pretty large team, at one point the roster was up to 31 kids. We are now at 26 kids which it 10 more then we had last year. 13 boys from last years team returned and have learned the new offense very quickly and pretty well.

We don't have a lot of speed, size, or aggressiveness which are pretty much the key characteristics of a good football team but we are working with what we got. Most the kids are pretty coach-able, and others are being dragged along, but it's working.

We have an offense that when executed correctly will drain the clock and get us 1st downs continuously. Last Wednesday in our last scrimmage we had 2 touchdown passes and averaged 5.3 yards a carry. We have a solid line if everyone can make weight.

The way our league works is if you are:
age 10 you can weigh 115-135
age 11 you can weigh 100-130
age 12 you can weigh 80-120

we lost to kids last week cause they were 11 years old and under 100 and we lost 1 kids because he was over 130. I'm almost positive our team roster will stay at 26 for the season. we have to much fun for anyone to want to quit.

There are minimum play rules in our league, every kid plays at least 1 continuous quarter offense or defense. Out of the 26 kids we have about 13 kids who start and then divvy out the playing time to the others. It's really a complicated task to figure out. I need to put who is playing when and where before the games even starts. That's the hard part of my job, coaching is easy.

Well our 1st game starts Saturday the 12th and you are all invited, I'm going to updated Dane's schedule on our side bar for all of those who would like to come see a game.

Here are some pictures from the past 6 weeks.
